Ballroom dance classes in Southampton

If you love Strictly Come Dancing, then join us for our fun and friendly social Ballroom and Latin classes in Southampton. There are no exams, medals or competitions - just pure dancing for pleasure. As well as classes we also hold several social events each year. The next one will be announced soon

Classes are designed for:
Absolute Beginners (Level 1) who have no previous dance experience or who have never done Ballroom or Latin before
Level 2 who have been in the Beginners class for a year or who have previously danced Ballroom & Latin before and know the basics
Level 3 for people who have done Level 2 for a year or have 2+ years previous Ballroom & Latin experience.



Below is the schedule for the next 2 months, please note Eileen will be teaching the same dance in all 3 levels but different routines, so for those of you that want to brush up on the basic steps before trying something more challenging can then do 2 classes (i.e Level 1+2 or Level 2+3). There will be one exception, when we teach the Foxtrot – Level 1 will be the Social Foxtrot and Levels 2 & 3 will be the Slow Foxtrot.

You do not need partners as we all dance together and there is a great ratio of leaders to followers.

MONDAYS
Level 1              6.55pm – 7.55pm           £4.50
Level 2              8.00pm – 9.00pm           £4.50
Level 3              9.05pm – 10.05pm         £4.50
Attend 2 levels for £7.50 (instead of £9)


If you feel you have mastered the beginners steps for each dance from class and can dance them with little or no assistance then you maybe ready for the next level, so speak to Eileen who will assess and work with you to make sure you are getting the most out of your lesson and will put you into the correct level. There may be certain dances that you find easier than others and so may wish to try a higher level class on those nights.

Water will be provided free of charge or there is a licensed bar downstairs, open after 7pm, or you can bring your own soft drinks

There is a large car park at the back of the club

Ballroom Practice sessions - Sundays 12 Feb, 11 March, 15 April 2012

Come along and practise the routines you have learnt, on your own or with a partner. You will have the chance to get help and ask questions with anything you may be struggling with. Try out new steps and put your own routine together. Make notes that will help you to remember. Everyone welcome
