Salsa Classes
We have a very friendly and vibrant Salsa scene on the South Coast.
For people who have never danced before, we have Absolute Beginners classes, where we assume you know nothing!
Each night we have 3 or 4 classes running concurrently so that you can progress at your own speed. Our wonderful teachers give you expert tuition with heaps of fun.
After
the classes finish at 9.30pm, the music continues, the lights go down
and you start dancing with everyone else until 11pm. This is the social element of Salsa, as it is more than just a dance class and then go home!
Partners are very welcome, but not obligatory.
You can just turn up on your own or with friends and we'll rotate the
partners for you.
So even if you have 2, or more, left feet, join us on the dance floor and we will guide you through every step along the way.
Class Start: 8pm for 3 levels:
Absolute Beginners course,
Improvers and Intermediates
Class Finish: 9:30pm
Dancing 'til: 11pm

New York style (On2) Salsa with Marcus:
Absolute Beginners have a 4-week
Salsa course beginning on
the first Tuesday of each month. The next
course will start on Tuesday,
7th July 2009 and run for
the duration of that month, after which time, students can progress
into the Improvers class held at the same time with another teacher,
on a drop-in basis. If you have missed this course and want to be reminded
for the next one nearer the time, please
contact us and mention 'Salsa at Ford'. Our courses start on the first Tuesday
of every month except December ie:
7 July, 4 Aug, 1 Sept, 6 Oct, 3 Nov, 5 Jan etc
No need to book or bring a partner, just smooth-soled shoes ... and some comfortable clothing!
The club has a cheap licensed bar and parking

Improvers and Intermediates
Class Finish: 9:30pm
Dancing 'til: 11pm
Cost: £6.50 on the door
There is an Absolute Beginners class every week of the year (except at Xmas). So it doesn't matter which Weds you arrive as the classes are structured on a 'drop-in' basis, with no need to book or bring partners. All other classes are held concurrently with different teachers.
All you need to do is turn up and we'll do everything else for you!

Beginners : 1-2.30pm for beginners Rueda
Improvers/Intermediates: 2.45-4.30pm
Cost: £3 each class or £5 for both
Rueda is
a circular Cuban Salsa dance where a leader calls moves in quick succession
and everyone follows. It's exciting and sometimes chaotic, but above all
it's fun.

The Beginners class is suitable for Salsa dancers with a minimum of 8
weeks dancing experience.
Improvers must know Abajo, Arriba, Dame dos, Enchufle doble, Vacilila
and others
