Back on Sunday - TLC's Summer Social Dance Al Fresco

PLUS TONIGHT we have a dramatic Moulin Rouge themed Ballroom & Argentine Tango choreo to 'Roxanne'  ... see below for more details

There are some important changes afoot at TLC across the board, which include a bit of reorganisation for TLC Tango on Wednesdays.

Here's the plan in a nutshell: Wednesdays will have a more cozy and intimate setting, more practice time, more teachers in your class for level 2-3 and more advanced lesson content for levels 2, 3 & 4.

From Wednesday 6 September onwards, TLC will host both Tango and Salsa at the studio. Salsa will be in the main hall and Tango in the back hall.  After exploring other options, this was simply the best of all possibilities.   At first I thought it was unfortunate for tango to have less space, but necessity being the mother of invention, the team have come up with some great ideas and I think it's going to work really well for tango!

The new format will look like this:

7pm   Doors open / registration in main hall
& music will be playing in the back hall for practice dancing

7.30   Level 2 and 3  with Claire and Charles

               8.30   Practica

Level 4  can also arrive at this time, registering in the main hall first

               9pm   Level 3+ and 4  with Joe & Tracie

9.30   Watershed for this class to become a more challenging Level 4

              10.15  Practica and milonga

               11       Close

Beginners course will no longer run on this night, therefore the Level 2 can progress further.

You will certainly become more proficient at dancing in small spaces!

If you are Level 2 - Your lesson will be with Claire and Charles from 7.30 - 8.30pm when you will have time to practice, dance and still have advice from teachers should you wish until 9pm.  You can sit and watch the rest of the evening and join the dancing at 10.15pm

If you are Level 3 - You have the option of joining from 7.30pm for the first lesson or 8.30pm for the practice / warm up session, and in either case then carrying on from 9pm for the beginning of the Level 4 class.   At 9.30 this class will step up a gear for Level 4, where you're welcome to watch, or attempt the harder material if you're feeling confident to do so

If you are Level 4 - You can join at 8.30pm for a practice / warm up session or 9pm for the lesson.  Your lesson will be with Joe and myself  at 9 – 10.15pm

Everyone has the opportunity to stay for practice from 10.15 until 11pm

Tuesday Tango - remains the same with Beginners, Levels 2, 3 & 4

Dance out loud– Ballet classes for children restarting 19 September

Southampton’s newest dance school opened its glittery doors in June 2017. Founded by dancer and medical doctor Haylee Solomons, Dance Out Loud is a boutique ballet studio specially for children aged 18 months to 7 years, and is "not your traditional ballet school", Miss Haylee explains.

“We have amazing dance adventures together. In our programs, we layer right back to the concepts of movement and what developmental milestones children should be reaching. From there, we add ballet-specific foundations and vocabulary such as ‘plie’ and ‘pirouette’, but also concepts of musicality, line, stagecraft and expression. Then comes the fun part! We wrap all of this in a fairy floss of storytelling to make the education feel so organic to children.”

Dance Out Loud will have classes at Tracie’s Latin Club on Monday and Tuesdays, and welcomes all children who love to create magic!
