Returning to Dance – your feedback first

Dear Dancers

Firstly, thank you all so much for all your support, engagement and encouragement for our online classes & party nights during this Lockdown.  It’s so reassuring to know that you are still out there, waiting for us to return.   We also love that we can still teach online with our pre-recorded videos and that we are making a difference to people’s lives.  It’s hard to gauge when all we do is teach to a solitary camera (or 2 max!), & they don’t give us any banter or interaction!

At this stage we have no idea when, or in what shape or form we will be able to return, but even if the old way of social dancing together is some way off, we have been busy thinking of ideas about how we could get back to real life dance classes in some way.  We know this can only be done in a responsibly accountable, safe way with you and our staff and all the guidelines in mind.

This is where we need you to give us your thoughts and ideas in our very quick SURVEY (taking 1 minute tops) so that we can tailor our plans to suit your choices before we make any drastic changes.  ALL your opinions matter as we are very aware that everyone has a different situation so please send us your answers asap – and they will be TOTALLY anonymous.

If you want to give us a more lengthy answer, please do so by replying to this email.

We can’t wait to see you all again and get back to our beloved dance floor soon, but there are a few changes we may have to implement / consider beforehand.  Here are some possible examples:

  • Online pre-booking only to avoid handling money and to ensure we don’t exceed the number of dancers we can safely accommodate;
  • Perspex screen on desk with contactless payment system;
  • Kitchen facilities closed so you will need to bring your own drinks with you;
  • Taped areas to ensure social distancing;
  • Shorter classes with fewer dancers – but more classes available on different days to accommodate all levels;
  • One way system to enter and exit the club;
  • Antibacterial hand gel on entering and leaving the studio;
  • Maybe a designated area to chat to your friends after class with social distancing;
  • Hygiene sweep before the next class.

We want you to be able to trust that we will make sure you and our staff feel comfortable and safe to return to the TLC Studio.

So please could I ask that you take a moment to kindly complete our very short online survey. This will only take one minute and will help us to plan some temporary measures at TLC for you.

Once the answers have been collated and when we have some guidance from the Government, we will be in touch again to present a timetable of classes.

In the meantime, we are hosting our Salsa Caliente party night on Zoom TONIGHT (26/6):
Full details with Zoom ID/passcode etc are on the website here

And our Tango party night on Zoom is on Tuesday 7 July and details here

For those asking us how you can help support the club while we are closed, here is the link: paypal.me/TraciesLatinClub  or you can message me privately for bank details.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far … in every which way.  It means the world.  We also know that this is a difficult time for many, so please don’t worry if you aren’t able to contribute financially – but if you can like and share our content online, that is also a massive help!

Keep happy, keep healthy and we WILL keep dancing.

Tracie & Gareth
